I don't know if anyone else with MS or in my case, Devic'Syndrome, experiences this but consistently through out my day I get an extreme burning down my leg. it seems to never let up and gets worse at night. I am on pain meds but it only helps a little. Actually, therapeutic message helps the best and thankfully my husband was shown how to do it properly.I end up crying, not just from the pain that almost cripples me, but from the fear that my disease is progressing rapidly. I know Devic's is more aggressive but I was and am still hoping to beat the odds.I consider MS battlers to be the most hopeful and positive thinkers, even more than "normal" people. only because we don't have any other choice than to fight. It's our only option. What else can we do? Give up on our lives, our children, our spouses and our family? Not an option! We battle each day with our pain, inhibitions and keeping up with our arsenal of meds, tests and doctors appoinments. I would love to hear from my readers. What do you do to stay mentally positive? How do you manage your physical pain and limitations? How do you remain hopeful when it seems all hope is lost? How do you handle knowing there is no end-no cure and your outcome seems bleak?

I stay positive by never letting myself believe that the future is bleak. Uncertain, sure. But not hopeless. It helps me to look at research and trials that is happening all over the world. New drugs. White cell transfusions. Stem cell research. MS is next in line for a big breakthrough.
